WWA Wildlife Report - December 2000

Snowdrops began to show on the hibernaculum at the beginning of December, and one solitary primrose flowered near the entrance bench.

December was pretty wet but the teasels dried out in a mild patch mid-month and were worked over by a charm of goldfinches. Robins, tits, dunnock, and wrens around the site as well, especially when the feeders were refilled! On the mere we had a lot of fat waterfowl and a sighting of the kingfisher.

The snow at the end of december revealed the presence of fauna. Both fox and rabbit tracks seen on site.
